Dear Volunteer,

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Cologuard Classic, a PGA TOUR Champions event.

We welcome back our past volunteers with sincere appreciation. We cannot do it without you.

By now, you’ve hopefully seen the exciting news that we’ve secured a new sponsor! On November 7, we were proud to announce Cologuard as our title sponsor. CLICK HERE to view the announcement video posted on our Facebook page.

The 2018 Cologuard Classic will take place two weeks earlier than the event’s traditional date to align with the beginning of March as national Colon Cancer Awareness Month. The event will further colon cancer awareness through various on-site activities with fans, volunteers, and players, as the tournament looks to cement a community footprint outside the ropes. Please be sure to adjust the new dates on your calendar: tournament week is February 26 – March 4, 2018.

To new potential volunteers, we hope you sign up today to experience the tournament up close and personal. Please look around this site for more information on volunteering for the tournament and feel free to call us at (520) 571-0400 with any questions.

Your tireless commitment and dedication to our mission is important to our success. Did you know with your help, the Tucson Conquistadores contributed over $500,000 to local youth charities last fiscal year?  That brings the total charitable donations to Southern Arizona and Tucson to over $33,000,000 over the past 55 years!

Just a handful of the tournament’s beneficiaries include The First Tee of Tucson, Boys & Girls Clubs (Tucson, Sierra Vista, Bisbee, and Nogales), Special Olympics, YMCA of Southern Arizona, Sporting Chance Center at Curtis Park, and hundreds more.  We hope you will join us as we strive to raise even more for the local youth and special needs athletics in Southern Arizona.

Your commitment also sends a welcome message to the PGA TOUR's Champions Tour, players, media and spectators who choose to call our community home for tournament week.  The first-class presentation of our event is a significant contributing factor to our continued partnership with the PGA Tour.

Take a thorough look through this website as it has valuable and pertinent information.   To apply as a volunteer, please Click here for Online Volunteer Application.  Please note, all volunteers are required to purchase a volunteer package which helps offset a part of the actual volunteer expenses so the tournament can contribute more of the dollars raised to continue to help local charitable youth organizations.

We have extended our early registration $10 discount offer until December 22, 2017. To receive the discount, volunteers will need to enter the discount code CC2018; or, they may choose not to enter the code, and may donate the money back to the volunteer offset account of our organization. To-date, we have had approximately 142 volunteers donate their discount back to our organization. If you are one of these volunteers, thank you!

The chairperson of your committee will contact you in February to confirm which shifts and days you are available to work.

Thank you in advance for your time and effort, we look forward to working with you to ensure the success of the 2018 Cologuard Classic. We are confident that you will find this experience to be extremely rewarding. If you have any questions, please call the Tournament Office at (520) 571-0400.

To qualify for "Free Golf Day," volunteers are required to work 3 days (minimum 24 hours). Please let us know if you would like to be on more than one committee.  We have several committees that need additional volunteers!  Golf day will be after the tournament in April/May, details to follow to volunteers that qualify.

There are still many details to be finalized, but we do have a few updates to share at this time. More to come as we get closer to the tournament:

  • Parking:  At this time, all we can confirm is volunteer parking during the tournament will be off-site. We are still working through details of locations and shuttles to the course, and will share those with you as soon as possible.
  • Volunteer tent:  The tent will be located at the bottom of Omni Drive, on the south side of the road near the fire pit, we refer to this area as “The Mesquite Gulch”. We are planning to add a volunteer lead to oversee the tent and provide a volunteer contact with direct feedback to Dave Perks and James Francis for any concerns or issues. The volunteer lead will also help coordinate volunteer lunch delivery.
  • Training:  Scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2018. The tentative schedule is listed above.
  • Uniform pick up:  Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the volunteer tent, as well as at the Volunteer Appreciation Party on Monday, February 26, prior to the party.
  • Volunteer party:  Monday, February 26, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. RSVP’s are required, and guest tickets are $25. Parking for the party will be on-site at the Omni.
  • UA golf tournament:  Opening weekend, February 24-26 (Sat-Mon), the UA is hosting a golf tournament, so there will be very limited access to the course to minimize noise.
  • Fun run:  Moved to the morning of the final round, Sunday, March 4th.
  • Playing schedule:  For TV, the schedule will run one hour ahead because there will only be a 2-hour difference from Eastern Time. For example, Sunday tee time will start later and will end at 5 pm instead of the typical 4 pm time.
  • Monday and Tuesday, February 26 and 27:  We will not be open to the public, although some committees may be working in preparation for the Pro-Am and tournament. Please check with your committee chair.
